He died at the age of 98, former Greek Prime Minister Konstantinos Mitsotakis.
The news was announced through a press release by family members who said that Mitsotakis passed away at around midnight on Monday, without emphasizing particular causes.
Konstantinos Mitsotakis has been Prime Minister of Greece from 1990 to 1993.
He has a long political career launched in the early 1960s and is co-founder of New Democracy, the largest political party force in Greece that he has run since the 1980s.
In his 60 – year political career, he has also run ministries such as Finance, Economy and Foreign Ministry.
Mitsotakis is the father of deputy Dora Bakoyannis, who was the mayor of Athens and the Foreign Minister.
